MY EXPERTISE

I am fortunate to have been exposed to a number of different environments and experiences in healthcare. The first part of my career was spent in banking and consulting for health systems and related services. The second part centered on hospital administration and practice operations. Along the way, I gained insight into health services in less developed markets and involved myself in public health work. Today, I am on the frontlines of care delivery as a healthcare executive in practice operations, helping physicians and medical staff provider better care to more people. Below I highlight some of my experience:
New Business Models: I was led from business school in Europe to an investment bank/corporate finance consultancy in Atlanta. As a Director there, I worked closely with Fortune 500s and healthcare startups in over 200 engagements to grow their businesses and manage their finances. At Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, I developed new business models and long-term plans for the CFO (10-year system financial plan) and clinical leadership (new service lines). Planning included modeling and analysis around payer mix, provider compensation, market share analysis, population growth, and project ROI.
Ambulatory Care Strategy: Having a coherent and aggressive strategy for ambulatory growth is more critical than ever with increased competition and healthcare reform. At Children’s, I was responsible for defining the system’s outpatient growth strategy for its 17 clinics and led site development (geographic footprint, service offerings, financial modeling, operational planning) for several new centers in underserved areas. I partnered with physician leaders to engage local communities and strengthen system-wide referral patterns.
mHealth Pioneer: Witnessing the need and scarcity of resources in Kenya, I pulled together a team of 100+persons to design and implement a series of mobile health interventions for 80,000. I set pilot vision and planning, oversaw staff management, led major fundraising campaigns, and built partnerships with foreign government agencies and large NGOs. Our use cases centered on maternal health, child interventions, and malnutrition, seeking to reduce health disparities and fight disease.
Shaping Primary Care: Transforming primary care is among the top priorities of hospital leaders to drive growth and improve patient outcomes. As Director of Operations at WellStar Health Systems, I oversee a large portion of the system’s primary care practices and behavioral health clinics and manage a 125+ staff seeking to improve the overall health of our patients. I work closely with 50+ providers to more actively engage their local communities, coordinate care through new clinical models like PCMHs, and improve operations for efficient care delivery.
